Not such an early start today. We left the hotel at around 9.30am for Harley Davidson, Montreal; this time the dealership also had other makes and models such as BMW. We were here for around an hour before heading out proper for Belleville via a route that continued to follow the St Lawrence River.
The temperature was already in the mid 20's (Canada is decimal so it in C temp and K's) and was expected to get to 29 C; well by the time we got to our fuel stop it was 29 and we were headed for the cold water and electrolyte drinks. I had already started the day riding in a long sleeved t'shirt and it didn't look as though that will change.
This weekend is a long holiday weekend for Quebec Province so along the way we saw all the holiday camps full of caravans and tents, lots of cars and lots of bikers out enjoying the ride and the great weather.
In this area is a bridge to the USA as it is just over the river; the border runs down the middle of the river; Jude and I asked each other how many people cross the river here to get into either country? 100's we thought!
We stopped again for lunch at Brockville; a lovely little place of 7,000. Lunch was at a nice cafe who had great food but very large portions. A walk down the street found a hemp shop with a HD in the window so it was worth a chat with the owner about that only to find out he didn't ride it any more and much preferred his BMW R1200GS.
From our lunch stop it was again following the river through an area called 1000 Islands which was very unique as a lot of the islands, and rocks, had houses on them; very unusual we thought.
We are now at our hotel in Belleville after having a lovely dinner. Early night as we have to be gone by 7.30am to make sure we get our boat at Niagara Falls.
Good night Paige, Jayde and Ellie. We love and still miss you all dearly.
