Laconia!!

Woke up this morning to another brilliant day; the temp was already "warm" and was projected to get into the late 20's by mid-day: with the humidity levels the way they are it felt like it was in the mid 30's.

Chris and Jo got us out of Boston safely: the traffic was more like a NZ work day than a normal Sunday; very busy. It was a short run up to Laconia, about an hour and a half, but with the amount of cars and bikes on the road closer to Laconia it took longer. With the heat of the day mixing with the heat coming off the engine it made it a little uncomfortable so by the time we got to our lodgings we were ready for a drink. We were not allowed in our rooms immediately as they weren't ready so had to kill a little time in the bar; not a great idea because by the time we got our keys all I wanted to do was sleep! 😂😂😂

The bar is right on the water line and people were continually riding up on their water bikes for something to eat and drink; Jody and Sandy even managed to use their girl charm on a couple of locals to take them out for a ride! Anyway it was very good and a most enjoyable wait.

The boat traffic through the channel was relentless. Every house around the lakes shore must have a boat as there was an awful lot of them and talking about the lake shore houses; they are big: some photos to come.

We soon got the call that some of the rooms were ready, ours being one of them, so off we went to unpack and chill out in the aircon room and after a little nap, 5 minutes, we were all off into Weirs Beach for a little shopping; we walked; it wasn't too far and was quite pleasant.

Tomorrow we are off riding to, and up, Mt Washington. The Parks Department have closed the road to the top to all other traffic so the bikes can have free rein; we are really looking forward to it so stay tuned and I will tell you all about it when we return.
