Hand painted helmets - Only $350.00!
The way into New Orleans was very familiar and we even remembered the landscape into the French Quarter. It didn't take long to get settled and then we were off to the laundry mat one block away where a lovely man assisted us and then pointed us to a bar where we could have a drink, Grand Pre's, while we waited. The bar was great and it was really good to talk with the locals who are very friendly (some gay friendly), so friendly that we forgot about our washing and the guy had to come and find us: we were an hour late!
We finished up and said our goodbyes, dropped our washing back at the hotel then went up town to find something to eat. Bourbon Street hasn't changed; it was still packed and vibrant but we managed to find a good place for dinner before having a look around, listening to some jazz, buying some gifts and then heading back to the cool of the hotel. Does anyone recognise anything?
Tomorrow we are going to hit the New Orleans we haven't seen.
