Up to Mt Washington for a bike only day.

Today it was a ride up to Mt Washington for a bike only day and it was spectacular 😍

The day started early with a very nice breakfast in a restaurant overlooking the lake, what more could you ask for? Nothing!

At around 9.00am we headed off for Mt Washington. The mountain had been closed to all other traffic but bikes to cater for the huge numbers attending which was a great thing as the road up is steep and windy so meeting a car on the narrow parts going up could have been challenging.

Most Washington is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at 6,288.2 ft and the most topographically prominent mountain east of the Mississippi River. The mountain is notorious for its erratic weather and while we were up there it was fine but a little windy towards the top, but not too bad.

What is rather unique is there is a train the runs to and from the summit; we didn't have time to take the trip but it did look rather exciting. Anyway have a look at the photos, especially the sign.

On the way back we called into the Broken Spoke Saloon for a small drink and a look see.
